Henna Haven is a West Hartford based entertainment company that has offered henna body art for over a decade. We provide fresh, organic henna tattoo designs for birthday parties, Sweet 16s and quinceañeras, baby showers, family reunions, corporate and school events, as well as fairs and festivals. We serve all of Connecticut and the surrounding states, including Southern Massachusetts and the Springfield area. We are fully insured, we work professionally, and we promise the highest standards of hygiene at every event.
We are the henna arm of Amazing Face Art, which means that when an event needs more than henna, such as face painting, glitter tattoos or balloon twisting, we can staff the whole thing from one booking rather than sending you to three different vendors.

Catalina LaPointe
Catalina LaPointe is among the leading henna artists in the Connecticut area. Her designs are rooted in traditional form and inspired by sacred geometry and symbolism, and they are all custom, created for the individual rather than copied from a sheet.
She has personally trained every artist who works under the Henna Haven name, which is why the standard holds whether you book one artist for a private appointment or four for a festival.
We mix our own henna
Most of what goes wrong with henna comes down to what is in the cone. We make ours from scratch: dried, ground leaves of Lawsonia inermis, lemon juice and essential oils, mixed in small batches and left to release before it is used. No chemicals, no preservatives, no dyes.
That matters for two reasons. First, it is safe enough for children at a birthday party and for expectant mothers having their bump decorated. Second, it stains properly. Fresh, well-mixed paste is what gives you the deep chocolate brown that lasts a week or two, rather than a weak orange that fades in days.
We do not use, sell or condone so-called black henna. It is not henna at all: it is a mixture containing PPD, a chemical found in black hair dye, and it causes chemical burns, blistering and permanent scarring. If an artist offers you black henna, walk away. There is more on this in our FAQ.
