Bridal Henna

Traditional mehndi for your wedding, engagement or mehndi night, anywhere in Connecticut and Southern Massachusetts.

Bridal henna is the most detailed work we do, and the most personal. A full bridal set covers the hands and forearms, often the feet and ankles too, and takes anywhere from two to five hours depending on how far up the arm you go and how dense you want the pattern. Catalina designs every bridal piece for the individual bride rather than working from a template, drawing on traditional Indian, Pakistani, Moroccan and Arabic styles as well as sacred geometry.

Most brides book us for a mehndi night a day or two before the wedding, with the bride's set drawn first and the bridal party and guests seen afterwards. That timing matters: henna needs 24 to 48 hours to oxidise to its full deep brown, so a stain applied two days before the ceremony photographs far better than one applied the night before.

We come to you. Home, hotel suite, banquet hall or venue, anywhere across Connecticut and Southern Massachusetts, and we bring everything needed including seating, lighting and the design books your guests can browse while they wait.

  • Custom bridal design

A one-off pattern designed around your outfit, your jewellery and the traditions you want reflected. Nothing traced, nothing stencilled.

  • Guests and bridal party

Additional artists so mothers, sisters, aunties and friends are all seen without anyone waiting around for hours.

  • All-natural paste

Henna we mix ourselves from Lawsonia inermis, lemon juice and essential oils. No PPD, no so-called black henna, ever.

How it works

  1. Tell us your dates

Send us the wedding date and your preferred mehndi date. Bridal work books out furthest ahead, so the earlier the better, especially for summer and holiday weekends.

  2. Talk through the design

We discuss coverage, style and how far up the arm you want to go, and how many guests will also want henna. This is what sets the timing and the quote.

  3. Book the date

We confirm the artist or artists and the arrival time, working back from when you need to be finished.

  4. Your mehndi day

We arrive, set up, and start with the bride. Guests are worked through in turn while your bridal paste sets.

  5. Aftercare

We leave you with aftercare instructions so the stain reaches its darkest colour in time for the ceremony and photographs.
